Native Christmas at MMA2
By Corporate Communications In Travel News On 12/31/2019
End of the year celebrations are the parties everyone most looks forward to every year.
Despite the Omicron COVID-19 variant that added to safety concerns over large gatherings, the management has said there is no need to cancel our End of year celebrations.
Like many other aspects of personal and professional life that have been altered by COVID-19, we took a variety of different approaches to comply strictly with safety protocols of COVID-19
We decided to celebrate our cultural and historical integrity in a unique manner. The season then provided a great opportunity for this purpose with our theme “Our Native Christmas”. The highlight is to showcase the richness of our culture by infusing a blend of our various Nigerian traditions which was evident in our decorations, cuisines (mostly African dishes), attire (strictly a touch of Nigeria fabric), games (ayo, ludo and other board games etc.).
The celebration was filled with entertainments with music from a live band and an DJ (a staff who was paid to showcase his skill). We enjoyed jokes from the comedian who was the master of the ceremony. To spice up the celebrations, we created something we called “mock awards”. The Mock Awards is a humorous but relatable award to special staff of BASL. Several categories were created including foodie of the year, pen magician, keyboard warrior, borrow borrow department etc.
It was a night filled with many activities like talent hunt where staff were given opportunity to showcase their talents in singing, dancing, comedy and magic.
